ROBARTS WELL (60’ well with positive flow at the bottom of the Mail Bay slope. By August, though, it usually has stopped flowing.)

Chloride: 104.8 ppm

Sulfides: 0.02 ppm (Despite the rotten egg smell, but our noses detect sulfur very well. In over 200 samples in SJC, this is the second highest reading.)

Chloride: 48.8 ppm

Cadmium: .15 ppm

GRABER’s WELL (suspected saltwater intrusion. In 40 years it tasted this salty only once before. This could be from the many storms this year, or from too many wells.)

Russel will be back again with more kits to train people who want to organize regular well testing. Trends may show up and would be of interest. Each kit is tailored to a particular contaminant so a group should form to take recommendations on what we want to test for. Gretchen W is currently the go-to lady because she was interested and I’m volunteering her. Once we decide what to test, Russel will hold the training session.
